Imphal, December 28:
The 18 riflemen of the MR and 35 police constables who were recently dismissed from service on the verge of completion of their training at Manipur Police Training School, Pangei have decided to approach the Guwahati High Court in the near future against their termination by the state police department on December 22nd last.
The decision was taken in a joint meeting held this morning somewhere in the Langol Tarung areas.
The removed personnel recently formed an association called Trained MR and Manipur Police Association to take necessary' steps for a return to their jobs.
The meeting was to have been held this morning at Tombisana Girls High School at Assembly road, but due to apprehension that they might be arrested by the police or security forces, they shifted their meeting site to a place somewhere at Langol Tarung village.
A spokesman of the association told mediapersons that the recent removal of the young trained personnel amounted to a great bluff upon the youths of the state.
This has disheartened the unemployed educated youth who have lost confidence in the government, he stated.
He maintained that the recent move of the government was like snatching the bread from the month of starved persons as all the personnel were given a honourium of Rs 4,800 each along with Rs 525 as ration money as soon as they were selected and joined the training at MPTS, Pangei.
However, their honorarium was recently reduced to Rs 4,528 including ration money without any proper clarification from the authorities, the spokesman disclosed.
The spokesman recalled that the principal of MPTS, Pangei on December 18 last had informed them that they will not join the passing out parade to be held on December 22, and told them that their passing out orders would be issued to them.
